Four and a half years ago I struck out on my own in this world of photography. It has been a roller coaster ride. Looking back, it’s really flown by. When I started this venture, I was working out of a small dining room in our rental home. We lived in Upperco, Maryland. I wasn’t sure where I was headed, but I knew I would get there if I kept plugging away. And that is exactly what I did. I plugged away. It has been countless hours, amazing photos, not so amazing photos, downright terrible photos, long hours, more long hours, even longer hours and missed time with my family. If I’m going to be honest, there have been numerous times when I’ve woken up in the morning and though about returning to the rat race. Then I think about the rat race and it makes me keep plugging. I’ve moved from that small dining room, to a spare bedroom, to a basement, to a small office, to an amazing studio in Monkton, Maryland. I keep working at my dream of becoming an amazing portrait photographer here in the Baltimore, Maryland area. That’s all I can do. With all the ups and downs, successes and failures, I can only keep moving forward. So that’s my thought for this evening. It’s not original, I didn’t invent the quote, but just keep moving forward. Don’t give up. Don’t ever quit. Your biggest success could be right around the corner. Go capture it.
